MS Word Introduction
Introduction:
We publish so many research reports using MS Word it is important to know how to use it properly. This is an introduction to MS Word basics including the following: text, underline, italicize, bold, text wrap, highlight, fonts, Z drive.
Task:
I. Experiment with text and visual media to create products
II. Use technology applications to create documents and visualizations of new learning_
III. Save a document (save as)
IV. Open and modify and existing document
V. Combine text, print and draw as part of a project
VI. Log onto a network
VII. Use both hands to type and keep them on the correct side of the keyboard
Week 1:
Introduction and demonstration of Keyboard (Enter, Tab, Shift), underline, italicize, bold, and "save as". You may choose a poem to type from the list and practice the skills demonstrated on the carpet. Underline 1 word, italicize 1 word, and bold 1 word.
Exit ticket - explain to a partner how to "save as".
Week 2:
Intro and demo of file location, text wrap, highlight, file save button. Using the file you started last week include clip art and highlight 3 words. Use the file save button at the top if you have already saved to the Z drive.
Exit ticket - explain to a partner how to find a saved file.
Week 3:
Intro and demo of fonts, and new. Choose a new poem. Practice all of the skills we discussed in the last two weeks and change the font at least once.
Exit ticket - explain to a partner how to find text wrap.
