Warts, those hard, raised, skin-colored lumps on your skin, are not caused by kissing Kermit. They are caused by a virus that confuses the skin's cell-makers. Before you can say "wart's up?" the cell factory has produced too many cells. That's what that lump is - a crowd of too many cells.
You can't catch a wart from a frog, but you can sure catch them from a person. for starters, if you get a wart, don't play with it! Relax. Chances are it will go away all by itself. sometimes they vanish in a couple of months. Sometimes it takes a year or two. If you just can't wait that long for a wart to go away by itself, here are some wart-wise tricks that may (or may not) help to speed things up. (Check with at doctor before trying these.)
For finger warts, wrap three or four layers of tape around the wart and leave them on for about a week. Let the wart air out for half a day, then repeat. It might take three or four weeks, but this trick usually works. (Masoff, 148)
